Student Councillors Begin Important Work
Our first Student Council meeting of the week was very exciting. We held a special badge ceremony to welcome our new student councillors and celebrate their important roles.
The councillors also planned our Be Bright, Be Seen stall, which helped children learn how to stay safe and be visible when walking, cycling or travelling near roads.
At the fair, they promoted our Mobile Library too, encouraging families to visit, choose a book and enjoy reading together.
We hope everyone will support our library and learn more about staying safe near roads!
Student Council Elections 2026–27
The results are in!
On Wednesday 16th September, pupils across Grange took part in our Student Council Elections. Our candidates did a fantastic job creating manifestos, sharing their ideas and speaking confidently to their classmates before pupils cast their votes.

Our councillors will represent the voices of their classmates, share ideas and work together to help make a positive difference across our school.

Our Student Council Elections
The new school year means the start of something very exciting at Grange – democracy in action!
On Wednesday 17th September, children in Years 4, 5 and 6 voted for their new Student Council representatives. Each candidate had the chance to share their ideas and promises in a manifesto speech before the big vote.
Then it was time to head to the polling station. Everyone placed their vote into the ballot box, ready to be counted.
After lots of excitement, the winners were announced – the new Student Council reps for each class!

What does the Student Council do?
Our Student Council works hard to represent pupil voice across the school. They share the ideas of their classmates, help to make decisions, and plan projects such as improving playtimes, supporting special events and thinking of ways to make Grange even better for everyone.
Looking back…
Last academic year, the Student Council played a tremendous role in the school community. They:
Helped to change and improve the lunch menus.
Wrote articles and carried out interviews.
Vision of the Mobile library and results from pupil voice
Promoted safer crossing and road safety.
Pitched their ideas at the One Hour World event.
Introduced a mock-up of the mobile library
A huge well done to everyone who took part – whether you gave a speech, supported a friend or cast your vote, you were all part of democracy at work!
