Our World Event 2026 – Every Idea Was a Winner!
Our Year 4,5 & 6 pupil leaders recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the Our World Event at Orley Farm School, where they proudly presented their ideas for improving life at Grange Primary School.
Following weeks of planning, collaboration and preparation, our pupils confidently pitched four inspiring projects to a panel of judges. Their proposals included a Sand Digger, a Splash Zone for our EYFS pupils, an Outdoor Learning Space, and a School Hygiene Initiative. The children spoke with confidence, answered questions thoughtfully and demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout the event.
We are incredibly proud to announce that every Grange project was successful, with each team securing funding to help bring their ideas to life. This was a fantastic achievement and a testament to the hard work, creativity and determination our pupils have shown throughout the project.
The event was also a wonderful opportunity for pupils to meet children from other schools, listen to their presentations and celebrate everyone’s achievements. After the presentations, everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch before celebrating with ice cream.
The children’s reflections perfectly captured what made the day so special.
Hanishka said: “I had so much fun and we are all so happy that we all won and all our hard work paid off. The food was so delicious. It was the best trip so far. I never expected this. I was so honoured to be here.”
Aamaya shared: “Orley Farm was really nice because we got pizza and it was really nice because we won the money and we also got to pitch in front of the judges.”
One pupil reflected on how much their confidence had grown: “At first I felt scared and shy, but after the trip I felt brave and courageous, and in the end we won.”
Zala said: “Today’s trip was amazing. I liked presenting my pitch. Everything was good and I loved the moment when we presented our ideas.”
Shaun wrote: “Today was an unforgettable experience. We presented our idea to improve hygiene in our school. Everybody who presented had their ideas accepted and funded. The buffet was amazing with pizza, veggie nuggets, chips, samosas and ice cream. I really hope I can go there again.”
Suyash added: “Me and Shaun went to Orley Farm School to present our idea for improving hygiene at Grange Primary School. It was inspiring to see the other projects too, and we were delighted that all of the projects were accepted by the judges.”
This memorable experience gave our pupils the opportunity to develop their leadership, teamwork and public speaking skills while demonstrating that young people can make a real difference in their community. Their confidence, enthusiasm and determination were evident throughout the day, and we could not be prouder of how they represented Grange Primary School.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Orley Farm School for hosting such an inspiring event and for their generosity in supporting our pupils’ ideas. We are excited to see our successful projects—the Sand Digger, Splash Zone, Outdoor Learning Space and School Hygiene Initiative—become a reality, creating lasting benefits for children across our school.
