Radio Grange

Radio Grange – A Pupil Leadership Initiative

Radio Grange is a pupil-led school radio station, originally created by our Student Council (Years 4–6). In 2022, the council secured a £1,000 grant from Orley Farm’s “Our World Event”, which funded all the equipment to launch the project.

The station airs once or twice per half-term, with shows featuring music, news, interviews, and reports on school events. Radio Grange also supports whole-school occasions such as discos, announcements, and special days.

Pupils take on leadership roles including presenter, producer, reporter, DJ, technician, and promotions. These roles help them build confidence, creativity, communication, teamwork, and practical skills, while bringing the whole school community together.

New for 2025–26: Radio Grange will now be led by a new team of pupil DJs and reporters. Children with a passion for music, presenting, and media will have the opportunity to apply directly for roles, rather than through the Student Council.

Opportunities are open to Years 4–6, with training and rehearsals taking place at lunchtimes.

Every voice matters – Radio Grange helps our pupils lead, create and connect across the school.
