Homework
Homework at Grange
At Grange, we value your feedback and have updated our homework approach to better support children’s learning at home. Homework helps consolidate what pupils learn in class and gives families a chance to be involved in the learning process.
Our Homework Approach
- Weekly tasks will be set on Spelling Shed, Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS), Mathletics, and Purple Mash.
- Each half term, families will receive a Homework Overview Sheet with suggested activities to practise facts (like times tables or vocabulary), build knowledge through research, and apply skills learnt in school.
- Children will also complete one topic-based project per term (Humanities, Science, or Art & DT).
Knowledge Organisers
At the start of every new topic in English, Maths, Humanities, and Science, Knowledge Organisers will be available on the school website under the Year Group section. These set out the key facts and skills for each unit so parents know exactly what their child is learning and how to support at home.
- Maths videos will be added to the website to demonstrate the methods we teach.
- Phonics videos are already available.
- Pupils will be assessed at the end of each unit using the knowledge from these organisers.
If you have any questions about homework, please speak to your child’s class teacher or a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
